UWA UPDATES ON THE NEW CASH PAYMENT SYSTEM AND GUIDELINES ON NEW GORILLA GROUPS IN THE BOOKING SYSTEM AND GOLDEN CAT TRACKING
The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has recently updated its operational guidelines and introduced new gorilla families in the booking system and rare golden tracking opportunities. To ensure your safari is seamless.
Below is the detailed breakdown of the latest operational changes.
Cash Payments Made Easy Using the In-Plant Banking Machine
As a way of eliminating delays in service delivery, especially with permit issuance and other related services caused by delayed payments, the UWA has established an in-plant banking machine to ease the banking/payment process.
This machine has been set up right at the reservation offices in Kampala at the UWA reservations office headquarters.
You can access these services from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM on weekdays and 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturdays.
Make sure you book on time since it is always easy to plan everything before any safari. Know that for payments to reflect in the system, it takes about 24 hours to clear.
After the confirmation of funds on the UWA accounts, the staff will only begin processing your permits or other services once the bank confirms the funds, so ensure you pay at least one full day before you need your documents.
- New Gorilla Families Added in the Booking System and Strict Permit Updates
The Uganda Wildlife Authority has officially added two new habituated gorilla groups in Bwindi National Park to its booking roster, providing more opportunities for primate lovers.
The new gorilla families added to the booking roster for tracking are the Nshanjare gorilla family of Rushaga Sector and the Happy gorilla family of Buhoma Sector.
With the addition of these official groups, UWA has stopped the issuance of extra gorilla permits.
The daily limit is now strictly fixed to the groups available in the digital booking system. To avoid disappointment, travelers through their trusted tour operators must check live availability and book their slots as early as possible.
- The 5-Day Tracking of Golden Cat Tracking Experience in Kanyanchu
The UWA has recently added tracking of the African Golden Cat in the Kanyanchu region (off Ngogo Road) for experienced explorers looking for a rare thrill.
This is an intensive 5-day tracking permit priced at $350 USD per person, offering an immersive deep-forest expedition.
Since this is a new safari activity, bookings will be done manually instead of the online system. You must book on the ground at least 24 to 48 hours before your trek begins.
While UWA provides professional rangers to lead the way and ensure security, travelers are required to bring their own private guides from their tour operator.
Please contact us now for assistance with any booking queries. Our team will gladly guide you through every step to ensure your arrangements are efficient and well-coordinated for a seamless uganda safari.
